Zone Proxima uses the Metaphorics approach to instruction.  Zone Proxima CEO Debbie Denise Reese, PhD, invented Metaphorics approach. NASA and National Science Foundation (NSF) financially supported Metaphorics development, testing, evaluation, and implementation. Reese derived Metaphorics from cognitive science analogical reasoning theory. Metaphorics is applied cognitive science. Metaphorics designs instruction that works the way the mind works.

Metaphorics supports knowledge domain specification, selection and mapping of concrete analogs, development, assessment, evaluation and implementation.
